Meditation and Stretching with Beautiful Sounds

Wednesday, May 13 • 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
Dating back as far as the 12th century, singing bowls have been used throughout Asia for meditation, ritual, and healing ceremonial purposes. This full-body listening experience will take you on a sonically-guided meditative journey, as vibrations from crystal singing bowls, chimes, and gongs gently wash away stress and tension. We will also learn some soft stretching exercises to further expand taking charge of your health and well-being.

Monday, May 18 • 5:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Grief is a natural response to major life changes—whether it's becoming an empty nester, losing a job, experiencing divorce or the end of a relationship, or mourning the passing of a loved one or pet. This program explores how to create safe mental spaces and supportive environments for processing and releasing grief. Participants will learn:
- How to identify loss, recognize trauma and honor different types of grief
- Grounding techniques for self-regulation
- Simple practices to release emotions in healthy ways

Sunday, May 24 • 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.
Discover the basics of yoga in a supportive and beginner-friendly class designed for adults. An experienced instructor will guide you through gentle stretches, simple poses, and breathing techniques to help improve flexibility, balance, and relaxation. No prior experience is required—just wear comfortable clothing and bring a yoga mat or towel. A limited number of yoga mats will be provided.

Wednesday, May 27 • 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
Memory Cafes are a place for those living with memory loss, Alzheimer's, or other forms of dementia and the people that care for them. Enjoy creative activities, games, talk with people who understand what you're going through, and have fun! Registration is recommended, though you do not need to be a Geneva cardholder to attend.



The KDK affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illnesses offers connections, education, and support for both those living with mental health conditions, and their families and communities. They also run free support groups and community presentations throughout the Kane, Dekalb, and Kendall county areas.
Located in Geneva, TriCity Family Services offers family-based counseling for a variety of mental health concerns, as well as support groups for parents, women, and single mothers, and emotional wellness workshops for community members of all ages.

Mental Health America offers many free online tests to screen for a variety of mental health concerns, such as anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, and eating disorders. They also a great deal of information and resources for those curious about or living with particular mental health concerns.
