Librarian, Kids Landing (Full Time/Non-Exempt)
Do you enjoy working with families and working collaboratively with your teammates? Are you a librarian or soon to be librarian who has a passion for serving children and creating memorable library experiences? We're seeking a proactive and dynamic team player to join our Public Services team. In addition to providing patron support at our service points, you’ll develop, plan, present, and expand programming for children ages birth through elementary school, with a focus on preschool age programming and storytime. Successful candidates will be outgoing self-starters who enjoy providing service at the level of WOW!

Qualifications:

• MLIS or MLS required (within six months of starting date)

• 1 year of library experience (2 years of related public library experience preferred)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Enthusiasm for working with the public


Position Details:

Full Time or Part Time: Full time, non-exempt

Hours: 37.5 hours a week; including one night and monthly weekend rotation

Salary: $25.91 to $30.48/hour (midpoint); internal equity is used in determining the rate of pay

Assistant, Facilities (Part Time/Limited Benefits)
Are you a team player who takes pride in your work? We are looking for a reliable, skilled individual to perform general maintenance and upkeep of the library building and grounds and perform room setups. Successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a keen eye for detail, be safety conscious, and ability to work independently.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Custodial experience and mechanical aptitude a plus

• Position requires evening and weekend hours

• Ability to reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds and access cleaning areas


Position Details:

Full Time or Part Time: Part time with limited benefits (non-exempt)

Hours: 12-18 hours a week, including evenings and weekends

Salary: $16.61-19.54 hour (midpoint); internal equity is used in determining the rate of
pay

Benefits: We offer limited PTO and participation in our employee assistance program.

Seasonal Library Assistant, Public Services (Part Time/Limited Benefits)
Do you enjoy working with the public and have a passion for creating fun and memorable experiences for customers? We’re seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic team player to assist us with our Summer Challenge program—fun for all ages! Successful candidates will enjoy providing service at the level of WOW at our Summer Challenge station and working in tandem with our Public Services team. You’ll help Summer Challenge participants with registration, logging progress, and collecting prizes.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED

• Proficient use of technology and ability to quickly learn new software

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail

• Experience with customer service preferred


Position Details:

Full Time or Part Time: Part time, seasonal

Hours: 18-25 hours a week; including nights and weekend rotation

Salary: $15.00-16.50 (midpoint); internal equity is used in determining the rate of pay

Benefits: We offer limited PTO and participation in our employee assistance program

Teen Volunteers
Geneva Public Library patrons in grades 6-12 are eligible for our Volunteen program. Registered Volunteens will be e-mailed signup sheets listing when the Library needs help, and can commit to upcoming time slots that work for them. This flexible system makes is easy to schedule around other commitments.
