Adult Residents (Ages 18+)
Residents of Geneva Public Library District are entitled to a library card. Whether you fill out the online application or apply for one at the Library you will need to provide a photo ID and one piece of identification that verifies your identity and residence. Library cards are valid for 3 years from the issue date before you need to renew them. To see what Library District you are a part of, search your address here.

The following documents containing your name and address will be accepted as verification:

• Driver's license (if address is current, this is all you need)

• Current utility bill

• Current property bill

• Printed check or current bank statement

• Real estate papers or lease

We highly recommend that all family members get their own cards. This will give you easier access to eResources, programs, and materials, plus it gets you your fair share of services that are limited to one per card. When you sign up, you can choose to link family members’ cards, which allows members of your family to pick up holds and check out items for one another.
Minor Residents (Ages 0-17)
All persons under 18 years of age can apply for a Library card. A parent or legal guardian must sign the application for an applicant under 18 and must be present to verify residency within the Library District. The adult must provide a form of ID specified in the Adult Residents section to show proof of minors residency. Minor resident library cards expire on the minor’s 18th birthday.

If you are 18+ and still hold a minor Library card, you can get an adult Library card. Sign up for a card online to get a card mailed to you. Or, come to the Library with a photo ID showing your Geneva Public Library District address.
Geneva Property Owners
Persons who own property but do not reside within the Library District may apply for a card with photo ID and a current property tax bill. All property owners must sign application. Applications are available at the Customer Service Desk.
Geneva Business Owners

• Current business lease
