Pick Up Your Holds

When you place a hold, we provide you the option of picking up your materials inside the Library or through our convenient Drive Up. We will notify you by email or phone as soon as your materials are ready for pickup. Physical items from your Library can be checked out for up to 21 days.

Drive Up Window ServiceTo pick up your holds at our drive up window, select "Geneva Public Library District Drive Up Window” when placing your hold.

Drive Up Hours:


Monday to Thursday: 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Saturday: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Sunday: 12 p.m. – 5 p.m.

You can return materials through our drop slot at the Drive Up 24/7.

We hold your items for 7 days.
Holds Inside the Library
Holds Inside the LibraryTo pick up your holds inside the Library, select "Geneva Public Library District" when placing a hold.

Your holds will be located on shelves near the Customer Service desk in the Lobby on the first floor.

Check your items out at a self-check kiosk or at the Customer Service desk in the Lobby.

We hold your items for 7 days.
Change Pickup Location
Log into your account and click on "My Preferences" on the left.

Select the holds you want to pick up at the new location by clicking on the box on the right of each title.
Click on "Preferred Pick Up Location".

Select the new location using the drop-down menu, and click "Update My Preferences"
