4:00pm - 5:30pm
Geneva Public Library District
Meeting RoomJoin us for a guided discussion of topical world affairs. Check out related materials in advance at the library or simply drop in for the discussion.
The Israeli–Palestinian conflict has its roots in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, with the birth of major nationalist movements among the Jews and among the Arabs, both geared towards attaining sovereignty for their people in the Middle East.
The dispute is over a specific area of land that Palestinians and Israelis both claim. Many attempts have been made to make a two-state solution, which would mean an independent Palestinian state and an Israeli state, dividing the land between the two groups.
Join us for a discussion of the position that the U.S. have maintained to better understand the viewpoints of those who support the position and those who are in opposition.
