iCash: Find Unclaimed Money with the Illinois State Treasurer (Adults)
DROP-IN
Wednesday, June 10
10:00am - 1:00pm
Geneva Public Library District
Conference Room (1st Floor)Drop in and see if the State of Illinois is holding money that belongs to you!
In partnership with the Illinois State Treasurer’s Office, you are invited to search the state’s official unclaimed property database and receive help filing claims for any assets found.
The State of Illinois currently holds over $5 billion in unclaimed money, and 1 in 4 people who search discover funds owed to them. Unclaimed property can come from many everyday sources—such as a forgotten ComEd deposit, an uncashed insurance refund, or even larger assets like life savings left behind after a loved one passes away.
During this drop‑in program, a staff member from Illinois State Treasurer Michael W. Frerichs's Office will:
- Help patrons search the unclaimed money database
- Assist with filing claims on the spot
- Provide guidance on the claim process and timelines
- Offer updates and next steps for claims that have already been filed
No appointment is necessary—stop by, search, and find out if money is waiting for you!
