World traveler John Lynn shares the first half of his 4000-mile hiking, biking, and paddling trek from the Pacific Coast to the Atlantic Ocean.

Over the past 30 years, world traveler John Lynn has hiked, biked, and paddled across the United States in a 4000-mile trek from the Pacific coast to the Atlantic Ocean. John will share the first half of his journey from Cannon Beach, Oregon, to the Mississippi River at Bemidji, Minnesota. There will be a little hiking and a lot of biking in Oregon, Washington, and Idaho, mainly along the Columbia River and across the Bitterroot Mountains into Montana. Lost Trail and Lemhi Passes then lead to the Beaverhead and Jefferson Rivers and on to Three Forks, Montana. From there, it's paddling across Montana on the Upper Missouri River to Williston, North Dakota, then biking across North Dakota and Minnesota to reach the Mississippi.

John will share Part Two (Bemidji, Minnesota to Plymouth Rock, Massachusetts) on Wednesday, Sept. 9, • 1:30–2:30 p.m. Registration will open on Saturday, Aug. 1.
