Learn about Soil & Water Conservation Districts from SWCD Administrative Coordinator Kat Gerdts and Resource Conservationist Patrick McPartlan.

Born of the U.S. dust storms of the 1930s, Soil and Water Conservation Districts are a locally organized and operated unit of government functioning under state law. In Kane and DuPage Counties, our mission is to support residents' quality of life by leading efforts to ensure healthy soil, clean water, sustainable land development, and regenerative agriculture.
