Come in to learn how to use the free software Inkscape. We'll set up a design to use in part two where we'll make a leather bookmark in our Glowforge
Inkscape is a free vector-based 2D designing software. It is very similar to Adobe Illustrator and can be used to make all kinds of designs and artwork. Whether you are designing a business card for personal use or designing something fun to make in our Silhouette Cameo cutter or Glowforge engraver, Inkscape is the tool for you.
We will be using the library's new GlowForge to make a long-lasting and memorable bookmark. With the power of lasers and the file we prepare in Inkscape, we will be able to design, engrave, and cut a custom leather bookmark—basic computer skills are required.
By attending one of the Library programs, you consent to be photographed or recorded. These images and recordings may be used for promotional materials such as the Library’s website, social media, and newsletters. Please inform a staff member if you do not wish to be photographed or recorded.
