Learn how to use the free software Inkscape. We'll set up a design to use in part two, where we'll make a leather bookmark in our Glowforge.
In honor of National Library Week, GPLD presents...
Inkscape is a free vector based 2D designing software. It's very similar Adobe Illustrator and can be used to make all kinds of designs and artwork. Whether you're designing a business card for personal use or designing something fun to make in our Silhouette Cameo cutter or Glowforge engraver, these can be done in Inkscape.
This year in honor of National Library Week we'll be using our library's new GlowForge to make a long lasting and memorable bookmark. With the power of a lasers and the file we prepared in Inkscape, we'll be able to design, engrave, and cut a custom leather bookmark. Basic computer skills required.
