Night Writers Workshop (Adults)
REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED
Tuesday, December 08
6:00pm - 8:30pm
Geneva Public Library District
Combined Study Rooms 4 & 5Facilitated by author and teacher Rick Holinger. This workshop welcomes writers of all abilities and genres. Topic: Let’s go to the movies!
Topic: Let’s go to the movies! How have movies affected your writing or creative ideas? Is your work based, however directly or indirectly, on popular or independent cinema? What about technique- editing, plotting, pacing, character development, etc.- in classic Hollywood films, given the different genres (Western, fantasy, sci-fi, war, thriller, film noir, romance, comedy)?
Do you think about how your work would play as a film—where the big money is—and does that influence your literary decisions?
The Night Writers Workshop discusses various topics within writing and provides a welcoming environment for peer feedback. The program is organized into two sections: critique of submitted manuscripts and discussion of writing topics. For more information on submitting a manuscript, please visit Night Writer Guidelines.
