ThinkFirst for Fall Prevention (Adults)

Jill Braselton of ThinkFirst National Injury Prevention Foundation will share the basics of fall prevention for active adults.

Falls pose a significant risk to the well-being and safety of individuals aged 65 and older, making them the primary cause of unintentional injury and death within this age group. Additionally, falls contribute significantly to emergency room visits throughout the United States each year. The consequences of falls can be devastating, often resulting in severe injuries such as fractures or head injuries, which can have long-lasting implications on an individual's overall health and quality of life. It is important to recognize that many falls are avoidable with the implementation of simple yet effective preventative measures. By raising awareness and taking proactive steps, we can work together to reduce the incidence of falls among older adults and promote a safer and healthier community.
