Geneva Public Library District
Meeting RoomJoin us to learn how leaving the leaves nourishes lawns, supports wildlife, and builds healthier soil!
Autumn brings warm days, crisp nights, and spectacular colors. It also brings lots of yard work! If leaf removal is a dreaded task each fall, consider reducing your workload by leaving the leaves. In this indoor presentation, naturalist Valerie Blaine will discuss the ecological and economic benefits of leaves on the ground. The discussion will include soil health, animal habitat, and nutrient cycling. Afraid your yard will be an eyesore? We will also cover ways to compost leaves that keep your yard looking well cared-for. You'll reduce your workload, save money, and benefit animals and plants - a win-win for everyone!
This event is in collaboration with the Geneva Natural Resources Committee.
