Conference Room (1st Floor)Join us this month to read "Vigil," the newest novel by award-winning author George Saunders.
At this unique book club, we talk about books, where we go beyond the book to discuss literary topics, influence, and culture. Join us August-November as we discover the novella. We start this literary journey with Vigil by George Saunders (author of Lincoln in the Bardo). This 174-page story takes place at the bedside of an oil company CEO, in the twilight hours of his life, as he is ferried from this world into the next. With the acuity and explosive imagination, George Saunders takes on the gravest issues of our time—the menace of corporate greed, the toll of capitalism, the environmental perils of progress—and, in the process, spins a tale that encompasses life and death, good and evil, and the thorny question of absolution.
