Learn more about mushroom cultivation for the home producer, including the following topics: mushroom anatomy, biology, aseptic technique, equipment used for cultivation, grain spawn, and liquid culture! Tom Knapp, Education Manager at Plant Chicago, graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BS in Environmental Science and a minor in Sustainable Community Development. He then moved to Chicago to pursue an MS in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Loyola University Chicago. Since then, he has worked as the Laboratory Manager for the fungi forward start-up Mycocycle Inc. and as the Mushroom Cultivation and Aquaponics Program Leader for the Urban Agriculture program at Loyola.
Tom will join us via Zoom. This event can be attended either in-person or through Zoom. Please register in advance to receive the Zoom meeting link.
