This month's selection is Inshallah A Boy (Jordan). A widow pretends to be pregnant with a son in order to save her daughter and home from a relative exploiting Jordan’s patriarchal inheritance laws. This film from the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival was Jordan’s Official Entry for Best International Film at the 96th Academy Awards. Released in 2023. Runtime 1hr 53min. Rated PG-13. This selection is in honor of Arab American Heritage Month.
