Geneva Public Library District
Meeting RoomFacilitated by author and teacher Rick Holinger, this workshop welcomes writers of all abilities and genres. This month's topic: Ironic distance.
Discussion topic this month: Dramatic irony has long been a staple of major fictional and dramatic tomes such as Huck Finn and much of Shakespeare. We’ll look at its effect on readers and how it can help create sympathy for the character.
The Night Writers Workshop discusses various topics within writing and provides a welcoming environment for peer feedback. The program is organized into two sections, critique of submitted manuscripts and discussion of writing topics. For more information on submitting a manuscript, please visit Night Writer Guidelines.
