Dark Skies: How to Protect Our Night Sky (Adults)
REGISTRATION RECOMMENDED

1:30pm - 2:30pm
Geneva Public Library District
Meeting RoomValerie Blaine will explain how artificial light at night impacts climate change, wildlife, our health, and our ability to see the stars and planets.
Artificial light at night has revolutionized the way we live and work outdoors, but it has come at a price. When used indiscriminately, outdoor lighting can disrupt wildlife, impact human health, waste money and energy, contribute to climate change, and block our view of the universe. Join Valerie Blaine as she discusses the consequences of outdoor light pollution and what we can do to preserve our natural night skies. This program will focus on how light pollution adversely affects migrating birds, our other wildlife friends, and our personal health.
