If you don’t have a plan in place that quickly and easily provides for your pet’s food, shelter and care, it is essential that you take steps to include your cherished pet in your estate plan. The specific plan which ensures quality life for your pet will depend a number of factors including state laws, your pet’s needs, your wishes, and your financial resources. In honor of National Estate Planning Awareness Week and Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Attorney Anna Dopke will walk us through this aspect of your estate planning.
