Facilitated by author and teacher Rick Holinger, this workshop welcomes writers of all abilities and genres. This month's topic: Short Stories.

Where Are You Going, Where Have You Been? by Joyce Carol Oates. Reading this short story as writers, what can we learn about developing character, plot, setting/descriptive imagery, pacing (beginning, middle, end), dialogue, metaphorical language (symbolism, etc.), and theme?

The Night Writers Workshop discusses various topics within writing and provides a welcoming environment for peer feedback. The program is organized into two sections, critique of submitted manuscripts and discussion of writing topics. For more information on submitting a manuscript, please visit Night Writer's Guidelines.
