Learn about the greatest survival story of all time - Sir Ernest Shackleton and the Endurance expedition of 1914-1916.

Ernest Shackleton, an Antarctic explorer, became well known for his bravery and leadership. His most famous expedition, the Endurance Expedition, 1914-1916, became known as the greatest survival story of all time, when Shackleton's skills resulted in the survival and safe return of all 28 men from his ship while overcoming unimaginable odds! This program covers Shackleton's biography and his Antarctic expeditions as well as interesting facts about other explorers who accompanied him. Slides will include actual period photos from these expeditions as well as the presenter's personal photos taken at several of these locations.

Ken Levine, an experienced traveler, has a passion for Antarctic history. He has been to Antarctica four times, has an extensive library of books on polar history, and has examined polar artifacts in museums in England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Norway, Argentina, Chile, Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand.
