Sherlock Holmes is probably the most famous fictional detective in the history of literature. He has captured the imagination of readers all over the world since his creation by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Come learn about how he was created and how he evolved through the stories. It is "elementary" that you shouldn't miss this presentation! Enjoy this literary history presentation in celebration of National Library Week!
John Gowing taught in England for 32 years and then served as a London Blue Badge tour guide for 11 years. He now proudly resides in the Chicago suburbs and presents talks on British history, culture, and London tourist attractions for local groups.
