Interested in learning how to play Mah-jongg? Join us to try your hand at this popular 4-player game.
Mah-jongg is a tile-based game developed in the 19th century in China and has spread worldwide since the early 20th century. Four players commonly play it with 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols. The game and its regional variants are widely played throughout East and Southeast Asia and have become popular in Western countries. We will be learning and playing the Hong Kong version of Mah-Jongg.
In the first hour, we will become familiar with the tiles, rules, and how to set up the game. In the second hour, we typically get through 2-3 hands, allowing participants to practice what we have been taught.
