Learn about the rock 'n' roll disc jockey who changed radio - Dick Biondi!
The Voice that Rocked America is a documentary about Top 40 radio personality and Hall of Fame Radio Disc Jockey Dick Biondi. Dick’s connection with audiences endured for six decades, and the bands he promoted have never forgotten his generosity. His story is told through archival photos and footage, re-creations, and interviews with recording artists, broadcasters, fans, friends, and Dick Biondi himself. The film is narrated by filmmaker Pamela Enzweiler-Pulice, whose life changed when she met her teenage idol. Legendary DJ Dick Biondi introduced The Beatles to U.S. radio audiences, sang “On Top of a Pizza”, entertained teenagers with corny knock-knock jokes, and created a lasting bond with his legions of loyal listeners. This is an educational, inspiring, and nostalgic portrait of the DJ who was the King during the 1960s, and one of the most influential broadcasters of the 20th century.
