Lynn Rymarz shares Donna Reed’s life growing up in Iowa and Hollywood stardom.
Most people know Donna Reed, the All-American woman, from her TV series The Donna Reed Show. Storyteller Lynn Rymarz will share the beginnings of Donna's life growing up on a farm in Iowa, heading to California to attend college, her early interest in acting, and how she ended up signing a movie contract with MGM Studios. Donna enjoyed stardom in Hollywood movies including It's a Wonderful Life, with Jimmy Stewart, and From Here to Eternity, which earned her an Academy Award. Lynn will also tell of Donna's role as a wife and mother, and her activism during the Vietnam War. Photographs and books will be shared.
Lynn Rymarz has entertained audiences with her portrayals of historical women since 2005. As a children's author and storyteller, she enjoys sharing little-known historical stories that have been published in the children's magazines Cricket and Highlights.
