In this fascinating talk, Naturalist Kim White will show many examples of how science and technology looked to nature to solve complex problems.
How did a Kingfisher improve a high-speed train? How has a gecko helped astronauts? Hedgehogs are helping reduce the chances of concussions. These examples and many more will be discussed during this presentation by Naturalist Kim White, including some animal ambassadors.
After teaching for 20 years in the Education program at Brookfield Zoo, Kim White decided to ensure her grandchildren and other children grew up knowing and respecting the natural world around them. Her presentations often include animal ambassadors, and Kim has branched out to include programs for adults. She’s an avid gardener, does a fair amount of quilting, and has about 30 pets, mostly reptiles and amphibians.
