high school

Hi, I’m Kylie! I can partner with you to offer programs, study materials, research assistance, books, and more to support you and your classroom. Below are a few ways we can collaborate. Contact us at geneva.library@gpld.org or call us at 630-232-0780 if you have questions.

Booktalks

Schedule me for a booktalk for your class! I will bring a sample of our collection, which can either be my choices or tailored for a specific theme or topic. I will also provide a list of every title that I bring, and make the books available for special check-out after the school day.

Resource Demonstrations – Electronic or Technological

The Library has many electronic resources available for research, homework help, and other needs. I can demonstrate these to your classroom and teach students how to navigate them.

Information Programs

News and media literacy, “fake news,” and source vetting are just a few of the topics that I can partner with you to present on to your students. I am also happy to offer programs relating to current events or curriculum units by request.

Open house or Curriculum night visits

I can demonstrate Library resources and share information with parents, students and faculty at any open house event, by request. I can even do onsite library card or program sign-ups at events with parents in attendance.

Library Visits

I can give behind-the-scenes tours in addition to on-site offerings of online research demonstrations or research and homework help by appointment.

Project/Research Support

If I know what projects and assignments students have coming up, I can pull materials for students to be available at the Library and arrange drop-in demonstrations of our online research tools.

on request

Book Club Service

With one month’s lead time, the Library can obtain up to 12 copies of a title from required reading lists or for book clubs, reading groups, or other needs (with some restrictions) for your students to check out. We can also help provide discussion questions and supplementary information as requested.

Recommended Reading Lists

If you give me a topic or theme, I can make a customized book list of titles in our collection for your students to refer to.

Please give us as much lead time as possible. Requests may be made by phone, email, or the form on this page.
