Join us for a guided discussion of topical world affairs. Check out related materials in advance at the library or simply drop in for the discussion.
Great Decisions is America's largest discussion program on world affairs. The group will read the Great Decisions Briefing Book, then attend the meeting with a short video introduction and a guided discussion.
In this session, we will discuss global supply chains. A supply chain is how materials, products and services reach consumers. Global supply chains are networks that can span across multiple continents and countries with a purpose of sourcing and supplying these goods and services. The Covid-19 pandemic highlighted how the US economy depends on the predictability and reliability of global supply chains. The inability to secure critical medical supplies due to production deficiencies from source countries like China threatened lives and livelihoods. Join us for a discussion of global supply chains and US foreign policies to mitigate the issues at hand.
Material for the Global Supply Chains discussion is available at the lobby desk in the Library or you may email mfoster@gpld.org to request a copy.
