AARP Foundation Tax-Aide (Adults)

REGISTRATION REQUIRED

AARP-certified and IRS-trained volunteers will offer free tax preparation help for anyone with Individual Federal and State of Illinois returns.

AARP-certified and IRS-trained volunteers will offer free tax preparation and e-filing for a variety of Individual Federal and State of Illinois returns. An appointment is required. Please bring the following documents to your appointment:

• Social Security cards or ITIN documents for all, including dependents
• A A government-issued photo ID for each taxpayer(s) on the return
• Last two year's (2023 and 2024) Federal and State of Illinois returns
• Income documents for wages, interest, dividends, capital gains/losses, unemployment compensation, pensions and other retirement income, Social Security benefits, and self-employment
• Other documents relating to income, expenses, and banking

For joint returns, both spouses must be present at the same appointment. A Library card or AARP membership is not required. DUE TO HIGH DEMAND, PLEASE REGISTER FOR ONLY ONE (1) SESSION. Appointments may be made online on this page, in-person, or by phone at 630-232-0780. Each session is 75 minutes in length however they may be longer, dependent on each taxpayer's individual situation.

Registration will open at 9:00 A.M. on Monday, January 12, 2026.
