Coming soon: More books, movies, music - and more!
On May 1, you'll have access to a larger selection of books, movies, DVDs - and much more - from 97 member libraries in northern Illinois when Geneva Public Library District joins the SWAN Library Consortium. Our neighboring libraries in Batavia and St. Charles will also join SWAN.
We're working hard to get ready for this transition, and here’s what to expect from April 28-May 1:
Bring your library card with you when you visit. We won't be able to look up your account.
Your PIN may revert to the last 4 digits of your phone number, or 512018 if there's no phone number on file.
You can return materials to the library, but they will remain on your account until we are on the new system.
We will extend due dates during the offline period, so you may be able to hold onto your items for longer.
Here‘s an overview of how our system will operate from April 28-May 1:
Search for materials in the online catalog
Get a library card
Pick up holds if you have already been notified
See availability of materials in the online catalog
Check out materials at the circulation desk
Access eResources like OverDrive, and Hoopla through the app on your phone
Log in to My Account
Download electronic materials or place holds directly from the Library’s online catalog
Receive materials delivered from another library
Renew materials (auto-renewals will be suspended for these dates, but will resume on May 1)
Additional benefits of SWAN membership:
Your library card will work at any of the SWAN libraries.
You can select “Pick Up Anywhere” if you want to place holds on materials in the catalog and pick them up at a specific location that is closer to work or home.
Select your notification preferences: text, phone, and email.
